FAQ

No you don’t!

When you visit YA Community Bible Study, you are not required to “join”. We want you to have time to check us out, enter into the YA Community Bible Study experience as much as you want, and see if it is a fit for you.

We will provide you an electronic copy, or a hard copy of the study questions each week while you are checking YA Community Bible Study out.

We would love to have you join us on our journey this year. If and when you decide you want to do that, we will guide you through a simple registration process and give you a Study booklet for your own personal use. The registration fee is $25. The cost to Community Bible Study for each person is $85. If you can pay the registration fee and contribute $2 a week in your small group, you will be covering your share of the cost. However, if you can’t, we’ve got you covered for all or part of that.

No.

You are welcome to visit and just listen in the small group. You can even join the small group and just listen for as long as you want to. However, honestly, we think you will want to work on some of the questions after awhile. Then you will be able to participate in the small group discussion regarding the variety of things people are learning.

The questions help you engage with the information being discussed. The more you engage with the information, the more benefit you will gain for your own life journey.

Again, it is up to you. We recommend you spend 10-20 minutes each day—a total of 1-2 hours per week. If you invest that range of time you will be able to share and learn in your small group. You may want to do less—or more.

Actually, Bible study and small group discussion are the heart of what we do. If you give it a try, you will see why.

However, we also make time outside of the Community Bible Study meeting for fun and relationships (food/hanging out) and some community service projects (Caring Enough to Make a Difference). These projects not only allow us to make a difference, but also to get to know each other in deeper ways.

You really are not required to join, unless you decide to. And you don’t need to join in order to belong. We want you to feel like you are welcome and belong, even if you are not yet sure about registering for the study. However, all the things we do together in YA Community Bible Study have a cumulative effect over time, of creating community--close personal relationships that are authentic. Community takes time to develop. The more consistently involved you are in the YA Community Bible Study activities, the more you will grow in community. So, actually, the benefits available to you are multiplied by getting involved and enjoying the whole adventure.
