So I will start it off, I had a couple, but this one just really hit me and applies to my life. In Joshua 9, the Gibeon's deceive Joshua and the Israelite's, with their worn clothing, moldy food and worn wineskins. In Joshua 9:14 the Word says, "The men of Israel sampled their provisions BUT DID NOT INQUIRE OF THE LORD." (I capitalized because there is no bold or anything here :) ) It is such a small statement, but it just really hit me hard this week. The Israelite's, whether they thought they new better or thought it was too small to bring to the Lord or just wanted to make the decision themselves, made a peace treaty with the Gibeonite's and ratified it by an oath to God (Joshua 9:15). There are so many times in my life, in my day even, that I do not inquire of the Lord when making a decision. Most of them it doesn't even cross my mind to inquire of the Lord because it is so second nature to just make that decision. And others I believe I am making the "right decision". But I, like the Israelite's, do not inquire of the Lord on all my decisions. Nothing is too small or too big for Him, He wants me to bring everything to Him, No Matter What. This verse isn't one like our memory verse last week, Proverbs 3:5-6, but it is, for me, something I want to and need to remember constantly in my life. Can't wait to hear yours!!
